The Way of Love
Today marks the Feast Day of Therese of Lisieux, The Little Flower of Jesus, whose simple and practical approach to the spiritual life has touched the lives of millions, making her one of the most popular saints of our time.
St Therese committed to the ordinary, everyday ways of loving. “The only way is by scattering flowers, flowers of every little sacrifice, every glance and word, the doing of the least actions for love."
Although a Doctor of the Church, brilliant poet and playwright, Therese never wanted to be known but hidden in her way. Her desire was to be “lifted up to heaven by the arms of Jesus to littleness.” to be “always littler, lighter, in order to be lifted more easily by the breeze of love.”
Might we all grow as saints by our every, little action of love.
May we each be lifted to littleness on the breeze of love!
