Transfigurations
This Little Light of Mine, by Mickey Mcgrath
“Each one, teach one. Walk your talk. You didn’t get your light only to sit on it.”
Sr. Thea Bowman
When his friends went up to the mountains with Jesus, they saw the glory of God, a glimpse of how he would appear after his suffering and death. At the end of the story, Jesus is so full of life that he shines.
We’re all called to follow the path of becoming so fully alive that we shine. We are transfigured, even for a short while, by everyday moments and once-in-a-lifetime happenings: through acts of loving kindness; when encountering beauty, joy or peace; in experiencing creativity and celebration. Whenever we see, feel, or experience ourselves - or someone else - as fully alive, our image and likeness of God comes a little more to life, a little more into the light.
How do you imagine yourself as fully transfigured, in the likeness of God?
What would it be like to let go of what dims the light or hides the vision of you?
May your light shine and guide of your days,
Carla
“The glory of God is the human person fully alive.” - St. Irenaeus
